Tuesday, 13 November 2007 Meeting

What a special treat -- to have a former F-105 Thunderchief “Mig Killer” talk to our Flight.  Now a Daedalian and fellow Flight Member, Dave Waldrop thrilled us with his stories about flying the “Lead Sled” / “Hyper-Hog”.

Listening to Dave talk about his training days at Nellis, his F-105 assignment to Japan, his TDY to Takhli AB, TH and subsequent temporary duty “extension” to Korat AB, TH (he had a friend at Korat!!), was quite interesting.  Working that TDY “extension” resulted in Dave logging 105 missions, 49 over Hanoi, with 1 confirmed and 1 probable Mig 17 Gun kill. 

To say we are honored to have Dave as a fellow Flight Member is truly and understatement.

Once again, you should have been there!
