Annual CHRISTMAS Dinner…!
(with spouses/significant others!)

Date:  Tuesday, 13 December 2011

Location:  VFW – East Point, Atlanta

Hangar Talk: 1800hrs

Dinner:  1900hrs

SpeakerWWII Pilot Dennis Payne

Have you ever had the opportunity to hear ‘first-hand stories’ from a veteran WWII RAF pilot?  Now you do..!  Thanks to fellow Flight member John Laughter, we will be honored to have his close friend, and a special friend of our Flight, WWII British Fighter Pilot Dennis Payne as our guest speaker for this year’s Christmas dinner. Mr. Payne flew missions during the famous Battle of Dunkirk and throughout the Battle of Britain.

As the regular member attendees will attest, our Christmas dinners are always a special and most rewarding event.  Could it have something to do with the spouses/significant others in attendance?  One thing for sure – that group sure makes it a ‘prettier’ meeting!

Put it on your calendar, get out the Google Maps/Map quest machines, find a car pool buddy, get you a Christmas tie, and email Program Chairman Don Myers (dmyers80@hotmail.com ) with your RSVP.  If no email, call him at 404-432-6600.  Help those that put the logistics together for you – commit early…, i.e., don’t wait for those wonderful Calling Post calls to remind you.  Please, don’t wait ‘till the last minute on this one…, we expect over 100 in attendance.

Here’s the address:

Guest Speakers

If you have any ideas or suggestions for meetings and/or guest speakers, contact our Guest Speaker Committee:

 Mack Secord / 404.252.3861/msecord@comcast.net

Meanwhile, start preparing your presentation!  That’s right, you could be our next speaker.  You might not think so, but your military experiences would be most interesting to your fellow Flight members.  Start putting your thoughts together now.  If you need help with automation, typing, or slide making, ask a Flight Officer for help.  Eventually, we want our members to “carry” their story to all the meetings.  One night we might just draw a name out of the hat to determine our ‘next’ guest speaker.  Start writing your notes now!
