Next Meeting:  20 APRIL 2010 [luncheon]

Location:  “Southside”

Wesley Woods Retirement Community

Newnan, GA

As advertised, we are holding both a “Southside” and a “Northside” meeting this year.  The April meeting will be our “Southside” event, held just 30 minutes south of Atlanta in Newnan.  See more details below.

Hangar Talk: 1100L

Lunch:  1130L

Speaker: [our very own] Rob Tornow, BGen, USAF, (ret.)

“Operation Just Cause”

Vice Flight Captain and former Commander, US Air Force, Southern Air Division (later designated 830th Air Division) Rob Tornow will talk to us about this amazing contingency operation; it’s objectives and results.

Get this history lesson first hand – call or email Brad Wright with your attendance now!

DIRECTIONS to Wesley Woods from Atlanta:

Take Interstate 85 to Exit 51, Sharpsburg-McCollum Road.
Turn right and go 1/2 mile where road dead-ends at Highway 29.
Turn left (south) and drive approximately 3 miles. Wesley Woods (770-683-6833) will be on your right.

Future (2010) Meetings:

At least six!  Set your goal for a 2010 perfect attendance record!

Remember “EMTTu”

(Even Month Third Tuesday)

 * With one exception – because the 3rd Tue in Dec would be too close to Christmas, we are moving that meeting a week earlier to Tue, 14 DEC.

Now, mark your calendars!

20 APR; 15 JUN; 17 AUG; 19 OCT; 14 DEC*

In an effort to accommodate Flight member’s transportation concerns, we plan to have one “south-side” and one “north-side” meeting in 2010.  This will also support our on-going effort to get those “Lost Wingmen” rejoined into our Flight.  The other reasons are obvious – it’s just for you!

We will also try to mix it up with both lunches and dinners.

So, no excuses…, Just Do It!

Guest Speakers

If you have any ideas or suggestions for meetings and/or guest speakers, contact our Guest Speaker Committee:

 Mack Secord / 404.252.3861/msecord@comcast.net

Meanwhile, start preparing your presentation!  That’s right, you could be our next speaker.  You might not think so, but your military experiences would be most interesting to your fellow Flight members.  Start putting your thoughts together now.  If you need help with automation, typing, or slide making, ask a Flight Officer for help.  Eventually, we want our members to “carry” their story to all the meetings.  One night we might just draw a name out of the hat to determine our ‘next’ guest speaker.  Start writing your notes now!
