The primary goals of the Ben T. Epps Flight 102 are to:

Ø      Ensure we support the Order of Daedalians’ tenets and objectives.

Ø      Conduct interesting meetings for our members.

Flight members should provide the Flight Officers with recommended goals to ensure a steady or growing flight.  Flight Officers will review and formalize Flight Goals and disseminate these goals to Flight Members through this website, quarterly newsletters, or at Flight meetings.

 

In addition our Primary Flight Goals listed above, our Standing Flight Goals are to:
ü      Conduct Scholarship Fundraiser
ü      Award Scholarships
ü      Increase Flight Membership

ü  Submitted Flight article(s) for each quarterly Daedalus Flyer issue.

Ø  Qualify for Flight Awards

ü  Active and Growing Flight.

Ø  Qualify for Flight Rebate Program

ü  All Quarterly Reports submitted on time.

ü  Anticipate rebate from National.

Ø  Establish Liaison with High School & Collegiate ROTC units

ü  “Connected” with Georgia State University Army ROTC.

ü  Met with Georgia Tech AFROTC.

ü  Presented scholarship certificate to GaTech AFROTC cadet in person

ü  Stood up an Awards & Decorations Committee.

ü  Most JrROTC Daedalian Award presentations to date.

    • Implemented automated telephone calling service to begin Jan 2008
  • INCREASE FLIGHT MEMBERSHIP
    • Inducted 17 new members in 2007
      • An increase of more than 33%
  • COLLECT 100% MEMBER DUES
    • Over 92% members dues paid
    • Implemented Life membership option
  • ORGANIZE FLIGHT INTO ELEMENTS
    • Implemented and appointed 3 element leaders
  • ESTABLISH COMMITTEES CHAIRS
    • Established 5 new committees
    • Filled Flight Chaplain office
  • CONDUCT SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER GOLF TOURNAMENT
    • Tournament completed – “weak but readable!”
    • Established a scholarship fund
      • Over $2500 from our first fundraiser event

Members of Ben T. Epps Flight 102 can be very proud of the Flight’s many accomplishments in 2007.  In addition to achieving many established goals, the Flight,

ü  Conducted 5 outstanding luncheon or dinner meetings with guest speakers

ü  Published Flight 102 By-Laws

ü  Completed the tax-exempt process with the IRS

ü  Represented the Daedalians at the Civil Air Patrol National Convention

ü  Presented Daedalian Medal to JrROTC cadet
